MTD Submissions: How to balance between Q1 and Q2
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax officially stops being theoretical this month.
From 6 July, the first quarterly updates can be submitted to HMRC. The window closes on 7 August, giving firms just over a month to get Q1 (6 April to 5 July) filed, checked, and out the door.
It’s the first live checkpoint under the new regime. No pilot scheme cushioning. No “we’ll figure it out next year.” Just a hard deadline, a brand new submission type, and a lot of firms finding out in real time whether their processes actually hold up.
